CONGO TERMINAL REACHES THE ONE MILLION CONTAINER HANDLED MILESTONE FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR
In January 2025, Congo Terminal announced that it had exceeded the threshold of one million containers handled for the third consecutive year, with a total of 1,046,064 containers handled in 2024. After crossing this symbolic milestone in 2022 and 2023, the company is repeating this performance, thus testifying to the development of its activities and its key role in port logistics in Central Africa.
This success illustrates the commitment of Congo Terminal’s teams to optimize operations and support the local economic dynamic.
«We are very pleased to have once again passed the one million container mark and to have handled more than 45,000 additional containers compared to 2023. In the coming years, our ambition is to reach 2 million containers handled per year, with the creation of more than 900 additional jobs for the country. » Anthony Samzun I Managing Director of Congo Terminal
As the exclusive operator of the Pointe-Noire container terminal, Congo Terminal has transformed the port platform through major investments in infrastructure, team training and the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment. The volumes processed have thus increased from 200,000 TEUs at the beginning of the concession to more than one million today.
To support the growth of trade and strengthen its strategic role, Congo Terminal is developing a new container terminal on the East Mole. Work is already underway, and the infrastructure will be operational in 2027, providing more capabilities to support the country’s economic development.
