AGL provides logistics for more than 200 tons of heavy equipment for the energy sector in Côte d’Ivoire

Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Côte d’Ivoire, successfully carried out, on May 21, 2024, the logistics operations for the reception in Abidjan of 2 Xmas-trees of 70 tons each, a 40-ton submarine cable reel and various equipment with a total weight of about 235 tons, on behalf of a company specializing in the development of technological solutions for the extractive industry sector.

For this equipment, which came from the port of Montrose in the United Kingdom, AGL Côte d’Ivoire carried out door-to-door logistics, i.e.: transit, unloading, transport and delivery to the customer, in the port area of Vridi, in Abidjan.

The operational teams of AGL Côte d’Ivoire first defined the route of the machines from quay 25 of the port of Abidjan to the AGL logistics storage base in Vridi, through a road study that consisted of removing the obstacles that could hinder the smooth running of transport operations on the route. Then, a 10-line Nicolas modular hydraulic trailer that can support a load of 160 tons, a 6×6 tractor with a capacity of 500 HP and a self-propelled mobile crane with a capacity of 400 tons, were used for the transport and unloading of the equipment at the destination site, specially equipped by AGL according to the standards of the sector.

These Xmas-trees, equipment essential to the operation of offshore platforms in the energy sector, will be used to exploit phase 2 of the Baleine project, the largest deposit in the Ivorian energy sector.

«We are proud of the success of this operation, which was carried out thanks to the know-how of our teams and our logistics solutions relevant to the energy sector in Côte d'Ivoire. Through this operation, AGL is pleased to contribute to the development of the Ivorian energy sector as well as to the economic growth of Côte d'Ivoire.» Asta-Rosa CissRegional Director of AGL Côte d'Ivoire-Burkina Faso

Thanks to the expertise of its teams dedicated to oil logistics and special transport, AGL Côte d’Ivoire has offered adapted, safe and innovative logistics solutions, providing adequate means for the handling and transport of heavy lifts, in order to succeed in this operation, in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
