AGL OFFICIALLY STARTS THE ACTIVITIES OF THE “ACCELERATE” PROGRAM OF ITS YIRI INNOVATION CENTER

On November 21, 2024, Africa Global Logistics (AGL) officially launched the activities of the first cohort of its “Accelerate” program, at its Yiri Innovation Center in Abidjan. This program aims to support and accelerate startups in the seed or growth phase, while promoting partnerships with the AGL Group, thanks to tailor-made support.

Called “Yiri Welcome”, this new school year welcomed the six startups selected for the program: Paps and ALAL from Senegal, Appload from Mozambique, Eazy Chain from Togo, as well as Tambour and ALIA from Côte d’Ivoire. This event aims to facilitate meetings and interactions between participants, mentors and partners of the programme, while preparing them for the current and future challenges of the logistics and entrepreneurship sector in Africa. The startups also had the opportunity to visit AGL’s logistics platforms and meet the actors of the local entrepreneurial ecosystem, thus broadening their perspectives and strengthening their commitment thanks to the team spirit conveyed by this cohort.

To familiarize them with the content of the program, the entrepreneurs benefited from a complete onboarding including technical and human resources, an awareness session on the challenges of transport and logistics, a visit to the Aerohub – AGL’s contract logistics hub in Abidjan – as well as a kick-off meeting detailing the different stages of the program.

«We are delighted with the effective start of the "Accelerate" program, which allows the Yiri Innovation Center to welcome its first cohort of entrepreneurs. Thanks to the support of our experts, coaches and the equipment made available to them, we are convinced that these startups will benefit from an environment and tools conducive to the growth of their activities.» Asta-Rosa Cissé, Regional Director of AGL Côte d'Ivoire-Burkina Faso

During the six-month acceleration at the Yiri Innovation Center, startups will benefit from an initial diagnosis, two sprints of three months each (work time on pilot projects) on a pilot perimeter defined with AGL, as well as regular monitoring to assess the progress of the acceleration partnership.
