AGL hosts successful blood donation drive in collaboration with Kenya tissue and transplant authority

Africa Global Logistics Kenya, in collaboration with the Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority (KTTA), recently organised a highly successful blood donation drive at both the Africa Global Logistics Nairobi and Mombasa Hub locations.

This initiative demonstrates the company’s commitment to community welfare and its core value of solidarity. In a sector where accidents are an unfortunate reality, enhancing blood bank reserves is critical to ensuring that victims receive the necessary medical attention promptly.

«Given our work in the logistics sector, where many accidents occur, enhancing the blood bank reserves ensures that accident victims are able to receive blood quickly hence timely recovery» Jason Reynard, Regional Managing Director, AGL East Africa

The combined efforts of AGL employees resulted in a remarkable donation of 47 pints of blood. This collected blood will be a significant contribution to local hospitals and emergency services, strengthening their preparedness for medical emergencies.

«Our annual demand for blood stands at 530,000 units, which is one percent of the population, estimated to be 53 million Kenyans. Thanks to initiatives by organizations such as AGL, we can meet this target and support the blood bank in Kenya, which is in dire need of blood.» Festus Koech, KTTA Nairobi Regional Manager

This blood donation drive demonstrates Africa Global Logistics Kenya’s ongoing dedication to going beyond providing best-in-class services. They are actively engaged in playing a proactive role in community support and development, while fostering a culture of safety that prioritizes the well-being of their employees and the communities they serve.
