AGL Guinea commits to world HIV day by organizing an awareness campaign for its employees
To celebrate World AIDS Day, AGL in Guinea organized an awareness campaign for its employees on December 1, 2023. More than 400 of the company’s employees took part in this event under the theme “Entrusting leadership to communities”
Aware that December 1st is much more than a celebration of achievements but a call to action to stop the spread of this pandemic, AGL in Guinea organized this awareness session to inform its employees about the routes of transmission and means of prevention of STIs/HIV/AIDS.
Through sketches led by comedians and the advice of Dr. Tenin, AGL’s medical advisor in Guinea, the guests, messages on abstinence, reciprocal fidelity or the correct and regular use of condoms were transmitted to the participants to unleash their leadership potential in the fight against AIDS.
«Getting involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS is our way of supporting people living with the disease and honouring the victims. We understand that this is a long-term challenge, which is why we organized an awareness day for our employees, encouraging them to recognize the existence of HIV/AIDS and to play a role in prevention within their communities.» said Fabjanko KOKAN, Regional Director AGL Guinea-Sierra Leone-Liberia.
«This day was organized by the General Management of AGL in Guinea to raise awareness, inform and raise awareness among workers against AIDS. The awareness-raising enabled participants to understand that AIDS is not inevitable and that simple gestures and behaviours exist to avoid it. With comedians, we talked about voluntary HIV/AIDS testing, the practice of abstinence, reciprocal fidelity, regular condom use, the use of new sharp objects and sharp objects.» explained Dr. Tenin Traore, AGL's medical advisor in Guinea.
