AGL awards immersion internships to the best ARSTM students in Côte d’Ivoire

Africa Global Logistics (AGL) rewarded on July 25, 2024 in Abidjan, the 10 best students of the Regional Academy of Marine Sciences and Techniques (ARSTM), on the occasion of the official graduation ceremony of the officer cadets of the 35th promotion of this institution, in the presence of the President of the Senate, Kandia Camara and the Minister of Transport,  Amadou Koné.

These young graduates from the various ARSTM courses, in particular, the Maritime Transport Higher School, the Maritime Navigation School and the Maritime Education and Learning Center, will each benefit from a 3-month immersion internship in AGL’s subsidiaries in Côte d’Ivoire.

This initiative, which is part of AGL’s “A’Excellence” program, aims to encourage academic excellence and celebrate the best pupils and students, by offering them teaching materials, scholarships and internships within the company

«AGL Côte d'Ivoire is pleased to offer students at the end of their training at ARSTM the opportunity to carry out immersion internships within its services. By allowing these young people to take their first step in a company, we offer them the opportunity to acquire the practical knowledge necessary for their successful professional integration. » Joël HOUNSINOU, Managing Director of AGL Côte d’Ivoire

As the leading employer in the logistics sector in Côte d’Ivoire, AGL thus participates in giving these students at the end of their training the practical basics, within its workshops and logistics platforms, with a view to facilitating their professional integration. The company also participates in the training and professional integration of young people through its partnerships with higher education schools and its “School of Transit” program, which aims to facilitate the employability of young people in the logistics sector.

Thanks to a partnership agreement formalized 10 years ago between AGL and the ARSTM, an average of 100 interns are received each year within the company. In addition, AGL has more than 200 employees from this institution of excellence who work in its subsidiaries, such as: Abidjan Terminal, Côte d’Ivoire Terminal, CARENA, SITARAIL and AGL Côte d’Ivoire.
