TIMOR PORT WELCOMES A VESSEL WITH THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF CONTAINERS HANDLED SINCE ITS COMMISSIONING
Timor Port has just reached an important milestone in its development by welcoming the KOTA HIDAYAH 2430S, a vessel that now holds the record for the highest number of containers handled in a single port of call since the opening of the terminal in 2022. This new step consolidates Timor Port’s position as a key player in the development of logistics and maritime trade in the region.

During this stopover, 1,234 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) containers were handled, exceeding the usual average of 800 TEUs per vessel. With its more than 150 meters long and 25 meters wide, the KOTA HIDAYAH 2430S demonstrates the ability of the teams to be able to handle constantly increasing volumes while continuing to improve its own operational performance. The completion of this unprecedented port call is the result of the company’s commitment to providing world-class port services, supported by state-of-the-art technologies and highly qualified teams.
With an area of 27 hectares and state-of-the-art equipment, Timor Port has quickly transformed into a major logistics hub for international trade. The company facilitates the import and export of essential goods for the local economy, while actively participating in the socio-economic development of the country with the aim of continuing to improve its services and meet the expectations of its partners and customers.

The Port of Timor, the country’s first public-private partnership, will cost a total of $490 million over a 30-year period. The new port is located in Tibar Bay, 12 km from the capital Dili. It is equipped with state-of-the-art handling equipment and operating software to enable the operation of container ships of more than 7,500 TEUs, achieving a level of productivity and performance worthy of the world’s largest ports.
