AGL and its subsidiaries in Burkina Faso renovate two orphanages in Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso

On September 25, 2024, the employees of Africa Global Logistics (AGL) in Burkina Faso and its subsidiaries SITARAIL and SETO organized the first edition of the AGL Group’s Solidarity Day called, “A’Solidarity Day”.

This event, which is intended to be annual, aims to bring together the 23,000 employees of the AGL Group in Africa around solidarity initiatives in the education sector, for this year, in order to materialize the company’s commitment to the well-being of young people and support the sustainable development of Africa.

In Burkina Faso, AGL employees renovated classrooms, the canteen and furniture for the benefit of the 200 residents of the Loumbila orphanage in Ouagadougou and the Den Kanu Center in Bobo Dioulasso.

Through this action carried out at the beginning of the 2024 – 2025 school year, AGL and its subsidiaries in Burkina Faso intend to contribute to creating a more pleasant space, where boarders will be able to indulge in educational and recreational activities serenely. These renovated spaces will not only promote the psychological awakening of the children in these two centres, but also their social interaction.

«It is a great pleasure for us to organize this first edition of the A'Solidarity Day alongside all our employees in Burkina Faso. This gesture towards these two orphanages is part of our corporate social responsibility policy and testifies to AGL's commitment to education in Burkina Faso. This moment is also an opportunity for communion and sharing between our employees, all of which reinforces their sense of belonging within the Group. » Seydou Diakité, Country General Manager of AGL Burkina Faso

In addition to the solidarity initiative, the employees dressed in the official “A’Solidarity Day” T-shirt took part in various sports and fun activities with the residents of the two centres.
