Owendo container terminal strengthens cooperation with port stakeholders to streamline activities at the Port of Owendo
Owendo Container Terminal (OCT) organized a meeting with several key players in the Gabonese port sector, including a delegation from Gabonese Customs, representatives of Freight Forwarders’ Unions, consignees and approved customs service providers, on September 12, 2024. The objective of this meeting was to discuss proposals for simplifying processes within the port, with the aim of continuing actions to streamline handling operations at OCT.
During this interview, a visit to the various commercial offices of the port was carried out, in order to review and optimize the procedure for the exit of an import container. Among the topics discussed were the location of the scanner, as well as the simplification and dematerialization of customs procedures, which are crucial points to speed up administrative formalities and ensure greater efficiency in the supply chain. These initiatives are all the more important in the face of the continuous increase in port flows.
A guided tour of the terminal was also organised to allow participants to see the many improvements and modernisations carried out within OCT’s infrastructure. This immersion in the field allowed the various actors to better understand the current situation and to identify concrete ways of improving for the future.
«This meeting demonstrates our commitment to working hand in hand with our partners to continuously improve our processes. By streamlining procedures and increasing operational efficiency, we are confident that this will benefit not only OCT, but also all players in the Gabonese supply chain.» Laurent GOUTARD, CEO of OCT
Owendo Container Terminal remains committed to continuing its efforts to modernize and optimize its operations, in order to meet the growing demands of international trade and contribute to Gabon’s economic development.
