First stop in freight rates after weeks of increases

Sea freight rates have finally paused after several weeks of continuous increases. According to the SFCI index, prices fell by nearly 60 points in mid-July, interrupting a series of increases, including one of 12.5% the previous week. This stabilisation is partly due to the prospect of a truce in the Middle East, although the situation remains fragile with persistent geopolitical tensions.

At AGL, we closely monitor these market developments to adjust our strategies and optimize the services we offer to our customers. Understanding these dynamics allows us to continue to offer efficient and competitive logistics solutions.
