SUCCESSFUL FINANCING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PATIMBAN CONTAINER TERMINAL
Africa Global Logistics (AGL), through its joint venture Patimban Global Gateway Terminal, announces the signing of a $73.6 million financing agreement with Sarana Multi Infrastruktur Persero. This funding will enable the superstructures and equipment of the container terminal at the Port of Patimban, including the installation of ship to shore cranes (STS) and e rubber tyre gantry cranes (eRTG). Located in the Central Java, just 3 hours from Jakarta, this project reflects AGL’s commitment to strengthening strategic logistics infrastructure in Indonesia.

Patimban Global Gateway Terminal, a joint venture between AGL, Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Samudera Pelabuhan Indonesia, will develop and operate the Patimban Container Terminal over the next 36 years. These new facilities will significantly increase the capacity to process goods, reducing waiting times while optimizing the regional supply chain.
In addition to improving logistics connectivity, this project also provides for the creation of many local jobs and the stimulation of the regional economy. It also incorporates strict environmental standards to minimize its ecological impact, in line with stakeholders’ commitments in terms of sustainability.
«We are delighted with this signing, which marks a new stage in our expansion in Southeast Asia. After Timor-Leste, this project strengthens our presence in this dynamic and strategic region, while demonstrating our commitment to developing modern and sustainable infrastructures to meet the growing logistics needs of the territories in which we operate. » Olivier De Noray I Director of AGL Ports and Terminals
«The completion of this financing testifies to the commitment of the consortium and all economic actors to the development of an ambitious infrastructure opening a new gateway to the central region of Java Island. Operations dedicated to container handling will begin by the end of 2026. » Pierre Avesque I CEO of Patimban Global Gateway Terminal
AGL and its partners are committed to contributing to the development of modern and efficient infrastructure, while responding to the growing logistical challenges facing Indonesia.
