AGL Guinea and Conakry Terminal raise awareness of accident prevention at work

AGL Guinea, a major player in logistics, transport and transit solutions in Guinea, and Conakry Terminal, operator of the container terminal at the Port of Conakry, mobilised their employees and other port stakeholders on Tuesday 30 April 2024 to celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work

As part of this important day, under the theme: ‘Impacts of climate change on health and safety at work’, AGL Guinea organised awareness-raising and prevention sessions on accidents at work and occupational illnesses. These sessions were designed to inform and educate the company’s 700 employees and other port stakeholders about the risks associated with their daily work, as well as the preventive measures to be taken to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

Thanks to these activities, employees were able to put into practice the lessons they had learned through simulated evacuation of the terminal in the event of a fire and road safety exercises.

By investing in safety awareness and training, AGL Guinea is committed to fostering a culture of safety within its organisation and to contributing to the promotion of high occupational health and safety standards in the Guinean port sector.

«We work in an environment where the work can be dangerous. We handle heavy loads and have large machines that can cause accidents. This year, we have placed particular emphasis on the safety of people at the terminal and the measures to be taken in the event of an emergency. To this end, we have carried out group exercises, as well as other exercises on the dangers of speed, both for traffic in the Terminal and for each of our employees in their personal lives» Emmanuel MASSON, Managing Director of Conakry Terminal
